Thorney Close Furniture Showroom
The Thorney Close Furniture Store offers high-quality furniture without the need to travel to the north of Sunderland.
We keep our prices low to widen access to everyone, including those on low incomes and benefits, whilst also ensuring the quality of our stock.

If you're looking for low-cost furniture or surrounding areas, our Southwick store is sure to have what you need.
What we do
We collect donations of good quality household items and redistribute them at a low cost diverting them from landfill. The standard of furniture is closely monitored to ensure our customers receive excellent value for money.
Training and employment
We also provide training in warehousing, customer service, administration and multi-drop skills to help members of the community develop employment skills.
We are always in need of good quality donations of furniture and other household items. We continue to provide a free collection service for the furniture we need to continue this much needed service. The most popular and sought after furniture is:·

Our free collection service for the furniture we need allows us to continue our much-needed service and ensure that we can provide low-cost furniture to as many people as possible.
We collect most furniture as long as it complies with our charity standards and fire regulations.
Urgent stock appeal
We urgently need donations of good quality furniture and other household items. Ways of donating your items to CSS.
- Telephone:
0191 549 4343 and our friendly customer service team will arrange collection on a day that suits you.
- Drop off: Take your donation to any of our CSS branches during working hours. Please do not leave items outside.
- Online: Email us and one of our friendly customer service team members will call you back to arrange collection
