Northern Inspired Furniture
As a department of CSS, Northern Inspired Furniture produces furniture that has been reclaimed and restored / renovated in our workshop and then made available for sale online (Facebook & Marketplace) and in our Thorney Close branch.
We offer a wide range of items for every need, including wardrobes, bedside cabinets, chest of drawers, units and more.
Every piece of furniture is lovingly repaired and restored so that it looks as new. This means that furniture which has gone out of style is given a new lease of life by being brought up to modern standards. This helps to reduce furniture going to landfill.
Our workshop
We have been running our restoration and upcycling workshop for many years, providing placements for people to learn furniture restoration skills, basic repairs and other work related subjects such as health & safety awareness.
The workshop has provided a number of opportunities for people with disabilities, trainees and volunteers under close supervision, many of whom have gone on to thrive in their own careers, or have simply benefitted from learning and socialising in a friendly and supportive environment.
Our restored / upcycled furniture is sold at low cost and has proven to be very popular with our customers.
The people who work on the furniture are very proud of their achievements and this pride is evident in the quality of the furniture we produce.
Some wooden items of furniture donated to our furniture stores are selected for restoration. This helps the staff to build their skills and also provides quality stripped or fully restored items of furniture for sale to our customers.
We have uploaded a few photos which show the end product as well as some 'before' and 'after' shots to show the extent of the transformation we give to reclaimed furniture.
