What we offer

As well as having a contract with Sunderland Care and Support (SCAS) to provide their service users with a handyman and minor alterations service, we have a handyman service which is open to anyone who wishes to get a quote. The main benefits of asking us to work for you is that we have been working alongside SCAS for over a decade now, and are classed as a trusted organisation. This means you know who you are getting involved with before we have even shown up at your door for the initial quote.

After seeing some of the residents in the city being taken advantage of by rogue traders / cowboy builders, we created a handyman service for everyone to be able to access, knowing they can trust us to get the work done and completed to the right standard.

The service is competitively priced and you have the knowledge that we have to adhere to strict health & safety guidelines as well as conform to Sunderland City Council’s strict procurement process in order to be able to provide services on their behalf. All profits made are pledged back to CSS to enable the charity to provide its furniture at a lower cost to customers.

Services

CSS handyman service can include:

  • fencing service (supply & fit to repairs etc),
  • general handyman service around the house (changing curtain poles, repairs to doors, replacing toilet seats, renew bath/sink sealant etc),
  • gardening (tidy-ups, landscaping),
  • decorating service (painting interior & exterior),
  • general joinery work (new banisters, grab rails installed, new steps)
  • metal fabrications (manufacturing & installing exterior handrails)
